Whiteford Field Trip
Leader Rob Taylor
Meet at Cwm Ivy car park just before 10:30 so that we can head off promptly. There is a £1 parking charge (honesty box). The ground is likely to be muddy and uneven in places, and the walk will take 3-4 hours. Please being a packed lunch.
Whiteford is good for a wide variety of species. These may include passerines such as yellow-browed warbler, firecrest and crossbill in the plantation, waders on the edge of the saltmarsh and the foreshore, raptors including hen harrier, merlin, peregrine and short-eared owl, grebes, divers and a range of other waterfowl. Anything is possible as a red-rumped swallow during one previous field trip and a party of snow buntings during another has taught us.
